Pride of Burgundy

Pride of Burgundy

The Pride of Burgundy is one of P&O Ferries’ older and smaller ships standing at just 28138 gross tons. Built in Germany in 1991, the Pride of Burgundy was initially a freight ship called the European Causeway.

The ferry originally operated on the Dover to Zeebrugge ferry route. However, in 1993, due to the number of people travelling from Dover to Calais, it changed to a passenger ferry. It was subsequently renamed the Pride of Burgundy and began to work on the Dover to Calais ferry route.

The Pride of Burgundy is one of three sister ships owned by P&O Ferries. The other two being the Pride of Canterbury and Pride of Kent.

The ship is one of P&O Ferries smaller vessels. It’s 179.7m long, with 8 decks and can carry approximately 1420 passengers, 120 freight vehicles or 530 passenger vehicles. Although she is smaller than some of the other ships in the fleet, it still reaches speeds of up to 21 knots or 24mph.
