Is Eurocamp All-Inclusive ?

Eurocamp is not an all inclusive holiday it’s a self-catering holiday where you stay in a tent or mobile home equipped with a kitchen. While some accommodations have ovens, others come with just a hob, depending on the type of mobile home. This setup gives families flexibility to cook their own meals while enjoying Eurocamp’s fantastic facilities.

Why Choose Eurocamp?

Is Eurocamp Good Value for Money?

Eurocamp is excellent value for money, with some of our holidays costing under £20 per night for the whole family. This includes access to pools, waterslides, and family-friendly facilities at top campsites. Compared to hotels or resorts, Eurocamp offers an affordable way to enjoy premium amenities in scenic locations across Europe

Is Eurocamp Good Value for Money, a picture showing 2 eurocamp sites with prices around £18 per night

Traveling off peak, and out of the school holidays certainly helps if you can manage it and has saved us a lot of money in the past. The photo shows the cost for a holiday in May with a total price of £126.70 for 7 nights and that’s for one of the more expensive Premium holiday homes.

However, even when we have travelled during the summer holidays and at other busy times of the year we have still found Eurocamp worth the money as for a family of 5 to fly and stay at a hotel would cost us much more. Eurocamp holidays in our opinion are one of the best budget-friendly holiday options for families.

When do Eurocamp Release 2026 Holidays?

If you’re looking to book a Eurocamp holiday for 2026 then you may be thinking about where and when to book but When do Eurocamp Release 2025 Holidays?

Our First Eurocamp Adventure: A Family Escape to Les Mouettes, Brittany

Our family holiday to les Mouettes with our child sat playing in a swimming pool smiling and having fun

We had never been on a Eurocamp holiday before and had also never been on abroad on holiday with a young child.

When we first decided to try a Eurocamp holiday, we wanted a destination that was child friendly, not too far from home, and packed with great facilities for families.

As we lived in Devon at the time awe decided on an overnight crossing from Plymouth to Roscoff so that we could sleep onboard.

We stated searching not really knowing where to go as there were very few websites out there that offered good information on campsites.

However, after some looking we managed to find Les Mouettes in Carantec, Brittany, a beautiful coastal site near Roscoff that we thought would be perfect for our first Eurocamp experience.

At the time, Les Mouettes was part of the Eurocamp network, offering all the key benefits we were looking for.

Firstly it was a short drive from Roscoff port which meant the ferry from Plymouth to Roscoff was perfect, it had an amazing pool complex with toddler-friendly areas, plenty of space for little ones to explore safely and not too far from the beach.

It meant that we could get to the campsite and enjoy the pool before we booked in which was great as there was next to no travelling whatsoever.

Although Les Mouettes is no longer a Eurocamp site, it was the perfect introduction to what Eurocamp holidays have to offer.

The experience showed us the flexibility, affordability, and family-friendly atmosphere of Eurocamp stays, and we’ve been hooked ever since visiting many different Eurocamp sites across the width and breadth of France since that first trip.

Not only have we travelled all over France, going further afield as the children grew up, but also experience different types of campsites at different times of the year from April school holidays to October half term.

As such we have an awful lot of experience camping in France and we’ve tried to pack this complete Eurocamp guide with firsthand tips, campsite recommendations, and money saving advice to help you plan your perfect Eurocamp adventure whether it’s your first trip or your 30th!

You can also check out our sister website Gocampfrance which offers a whole range of information, hints tips and reviews on campsites all over France.

Why We Keep Coming Back to Eurocamp – A Family Tradition Since 2004

Eurocamp family holiday sunset over the lake at La Rive

Our journey with Eurocamp began in 2004, and it quickly became a cherished tradition for our family. The blend of adventure, convenience, and affordability has kept us returning year after year.

Over time, we’ve stayed at more than 25 campsites across France, each providing a unique experience. From one of the best campsites in Northern France, Domaine des Ormes to the water park at the heart of Camping Le Pommier in the Ardeche, they all have massive benefits.

What keeps us coming back? It’s the freedom to tailor each trip to our family’s needs, the excitement of discovering new destinations, and the comfort of knowing we’re in a welcoming environment designed for travellers of all ages.

Eurocamp isn’t just a holiday; it’s a tradition, a memory maker, and a cornerstone of our family’s adventures.

Are Eurocamp Holidays Any Good?

If you’re considering a Eurocamp holiday, you might be wondering Are Eurocamp Holidays Any Good?

Yes Eurocamp offers flexible, affordable, and family friendly holidays across Europe providing a fantastic alternative to traditional hotels and resorts.

We may be a bit biased having holidayed many times with Eurocamp before and you’ll always read bad reviews on the internet but we believe that as long as you take a bit of time and book the right accommodation, on the right campsite, in the right region then you generally cant go wrong.

There are of course other companies offing the same sort of thing but we’ll cover that at the end in our Alternatives to Eurocamp and Why Eurocamp is Our Family Favourite section!

Eurocamp France: A Haven for Families

Eurocamp

France has always been the most popular country for Eurocamp holidays, and for good reason.

With its stunning landscapes, rich history, and world class cuisine, France offers endless opportunities for exploration and relaxation.

Whether you’re drawn to the south of France for its sun soaked beaches, the surfing and sun on the Atlatic coast, the tranquil countryside of Brittany, or the adventure packed campsites of the Dordogne, there’s something for everyone.

France is more popular than any other country in Europe for Eurocamp holidays. Camping as a whole in France had over 148 million nights spent in French campsites in 2023. French departments with the most campsites include the Vendee, Charente Maritime, Ardeche and Brittany with UK holidaymakers spending most time at campsites in Brittany, Normandy, the Vendee, Dordogne and the south of France.

Our Favourite Campsites in France

As we’ve said, over the years, we’ve had the privilege of staying at some truly exceptional Eurocamp sites in France.

Each one offered its own unique charm, activities, and atmosphere which is why we chose them. Below we will list some of our all-time favourites, whilst giving you some personal insights to help you decide which might be perfect for your next holiday.

1) Domaine des Ormes (Brittany)

Eurocamp Domaine des Ormes Brittany Swimming Pool

Set in the heart of Brittany’s stunning countryside, Domaine des Ormes is a magical destination that combines natural beauty with an impressive array of activities.

The campsite’s expansive grounds include a serene lake, an 18-hole golf course, and even unique accommodations like treehouses. Whether you’re looking to relax or fill your days with adventure, this campsite has it all.

We visited there a few years ago now during Easter half term so it was a little colder but still a fantastic holiday destination.

The reason we chose Domaine des Ormes was mainly due to it’s location. We were holidaying during Easter holidays and as such we had limited time. The campsite offers a great range of facilities and activities including an indoor pool which was essential for that time of year, it was not too far from the ferry and we’d always wanted to visit St Malo and Mont St Michel.

Key Features

  • Activities : Horse riding, zip-lining, and a waterpark that kept kids entertained for hours.
  • Natural Setting: Lush green surroundings, a picturesque lake, and wooded areas perfect for leisurely walks or bike rides.
  • Family Friendly: Plenty of space for our kids to run around, and activities suitable for all ages.
  • Nearest Ferry Crossing: Portsmouth to St Malo

Domaine des Ormes offers the perfect balance between relaxation and adventure.

We loved starting our mornings with a peaceful walk by the lake, then diving into the thrilling activities offered on-site and especially the swimming pool. No matter what the weather was like, the swimming pool was heated allowing us to all enjoy it, especially during late afternoon.

The campsite’s proximity to iconic attractions like Mont Saint Michel added an extra layer of magic to our stay and we also visited the aquarium at St Malo and the kids loved Alligator Bay.

3) La Croix du Vieux Pont (Paris)

Eurocamp La Croix Du Vieux Pont Swimming Pool

Just an hour from Paris, La Croix du Vieux Pont is a family-friendly campsite that offers a mix of cultural exploration and on-site entertainment.

It’s a perfect blend of culture and fun that left every member of the family with lasting memories.

4) La Rive (Landes)

La Rive Campsite Lake Eurocamp

If your family craves adventure, La Rive in the Landes region is the place to be. This campsite is a paradise for kids and parents alike, featuring a massive waterpark, direct access to Biscarrosse Lake, and endless outdoor activities like kayaking and paddleboarding.

Key Features

  • Why It’s Great : The lake is superb offering a sandy beach and lots of family friendly activities.
  • Facilities: Lovely swimming pool with plenty of slides for all ages.
  • Don’t Miss : A day at Dune du Pilat, Europe’s tallest sand dune, located nearby and the Zoo d’Arcachon.

What made La Rive campsite truly special for us was its versatility. One day, we could be relaxing or playing in the lake and the next we would be hurtling down one of the waterslides in the swimming pool complex.

Local attractions are also superb with the sea nearby, the Dune de Pilat and the Zoo d’Arcachon where you can get up close and personal with Giraffes.

5) St Avit Loisirs (Dordogne)

Saint Avit Loisirs Eurocamp

In the Dordogne region near to Le Bugue you’ll find the fantastic family friendly campsite St Avit Loisirs. At the centre of the campsite lies its superb waterpark with slides and swimming pools for all ages.

We loved spending the whole day in and out of the pool and especially the ring slide.

Key Features

  • Lots of Space: The campsite benefits from lots of space with a large bar, playground and lots of grassy areas.
  • Dordogne River: The Dordogne river is perfect for kayaking trips and don’t forget to take a picnic.

What made St Avit Loisirs really special was the swimming pool area. It has slides for all the family and then a splash area for younger children. The bar area is also fairly large and they have some great evening entertainment.

A short drive from the campsite and you’ll find tons to see and do. The Dordogne River provides great opportunities for canoeing and there are lots of stunning historical chateau and villages to see.

Our Tips for Planning and Booking a Eurocamp Holiday

Best Eurocamp sites in France

Planning a Eurocamp holiday can be both exciting and confusing but it doesn’t need to be!

With so many campsites, locations, facilities and travel options it can sometimes feel a little overwhelming, however with over two decades of Eurocamp adventures under our belt, we’ve picked up some tried and tested strategies to help you choose the perfect campsite, plan your trip effectively, and make the most of your holiday.

Put simply you’ll need to:

  • Pick a Eurocamp Site
  • Location
  • When to go and when to book
  • Choose your accommodation type

One thing we’d always say is be wary of some reviews of campsites. We’ve been to all shapes and sizes of campsite and just because someone appears to have had a bad time and written a negative review, it doesn’t always mean that you will have the same.

The same goes for accommodation options. Just because someone doesn’t like a particular type of holiday home on a particular campsite, doesn’t mean that all other on that site or similar holiday homes on other sites are the same.

Let’s now break each of the parts above down a little.

How to Choose the Best Eurocamp Site

The best Eurocamp site is purely down to what you’re after and subsequently your choice of campsite can make or break your holiday. Therefore it’s essential to consider your family’s needs and preferences before booking.

The two main things to consider are the activities and facilities and the location of the campsite.

Activities and Amenities

When planning your family holiday, selecting a holiday park with the right activities and facilities can make all the difference.

When we had young children, we looked for campsites that offered kids’ clubs, splash parks, playgrounds and age appropriate activities. We found them ideal for keeping little ones entertained and happy.

As our children have grown up, what we have looked for has changed slightly. Yes the swimming pool for us is still one of the most important things about a campsite but as they’ve aged, we have looked more for campsites with zip-lining, sports facilities and those with lakes where you can go paddle boarding.

Location

Location is another crucial factor to consider when choosing a campsite. The most popular regions in France for UK travellers are Brittany, Normandy, Vendee, Dordogne and the South of France.

During our time in France we always looked for Eurocamp parcs near to attractions and things to see and do so if we wanted to explore the local area we knew there would be plenty to do.

Our holidays to the Dordogne general led us to look for those campsites near to La Roque Gageac along with those close to the river so we could go canoeing.

In Brittany we always went for campsites close to the beach and whenever we stayed in Normandy we would look for those close to the D-Day historical sites.

We have always found it vitally important to make sure you have things to do both on the campsite and elsewhere nearby. One of our family favourite things to do is visit the nearby zoos. You’ll find zoos in France are much better than those in the UK offering fantastic days out for animal lovers.

Best Time to Visit and best time to book a Eurocamp Holiday

Eurocamp

We know from experience that finding the best time to visit and booking your holiday at the right time is key to ensuring you have both an affordable and enjoyable holiday.

From our vast experience here’s when to go:

Shoulder Season (May and September):

Booking a holiday in Mark or September general means there are fewer crowds, lower prices, and you still benefit from some great weather.

We’ve often traveled in May or September and it’s one of our favourite times to visit. Swimming pools are still warm and you can get some great deals with campsite and local attractions not being as busy as they would otherwise be.

Peak Season (July and August):

July and August see some of the best weather with plenty of sun. These times are perfect if you’re traveling with school age children, as all activities and entertainment will be in full swing.

Off-Peak Season (October to April):

While many campsites close during this period, those that remain open are great for budget travellers who don’t mind cooler weather. April is great for campsites with good indoor pools or those where you’re wanting to spend time exploring the local area.

When to Book and Tip for Securing Popular Eurocamp Campsites

The most popular Eurocamp sites, like Domaine des Ormes or La Croix du Vieux Pont, are in high demand and can book out months in advance so when planning a Eurocamp holiday, there are several things that you can do to ensure that you get your chosen campsite at the best price.

  • Booking as early as possible is a great first step, as Eurocamp often opens reservations for the next year in autumn.
  • Early-bird discounts are frequently available, and booking early ensures access to the widest selection of campsites and accommodations. This is especially important for securing popular sites during peak travel seasons.
  • Flexibility with travel dates can also make a significant difference. Adjusting your dates slightly may help you find better availability or take advantage of lower prices.
  • Loyalty discounts provide additional opportunities for savings with returning customers receiving a 5% loyalty discount
  • Seasonal sales occur during key times such as September, January, Easter, and when new destinations are announced. Staying alert for these promotions can significantly reduce the cost of your trip.

Finally, keep an eye on cancellation policies for added peace of mind. Eurocamp’s flexible booking options often allow changes if your plans need to shift.

This flexibility is invaluable when booking months in advance, ensuring your trip can adapt to any unexpected changes.

Eurocamp Accommodation: What to Expect and How to Choose

Eurocamp Accommodation: What to Expect and How to Choose

Eurocamp offers a wide variety of accommodation designed to suit every type of traveller, from budget conscious families to those seeking a more luxurious holiday.

We’ve stayed in nearly every type of Eurocamp holiday accommodation and have only had one that we were not happy with. This was following some flooding on Paris Est some years ago when they were forced to draft in some older Classic holiday homes.

Although they were fine for our stay they were not up to the usual standard. We have stayed in other Classic holiday homes in the past and since this stay and they are perfectly suitable for a budget conscious stay.

We normally try and stay in the Premium or Comfort ranges as they offer a good mix of comfort and offer good value for money.

We’d always recommend going as large and expensive as you can afford. With three children we would always go for a three bedroom holiday home and use the spare bed as a place to keep the bags. This allows much more space in the other bedrooms.

Whether you prefer the simplicity of a tent or the modern comforts of a premium mobile home, there’s something for everyone.

1. Mobile Homes: Comfort and Convenience

Mobile homes are the most popular accommodation option at Eurocamp, offering the perfect balance of comfort and practicality. These self-contained units are equipped with fully functional kitchens, private bathrooms, and comfortable living spaces.

Eurocamp Ultimate Holiday Home Interior

Key Features

  • Classic Mobile Homes< : Ideal for budget travellers, these are simple yet functional. They provide all the essentials for a great stay without breaking the bank.
  • Comfort and Comfort XL< : A step up in space and amenities, these models are perfect for families needing extra room.
  • Premium and Ultimate< : Top-of-the-line options with modern interiors, air conditioning, and added luxuries like en-suite bathrooms.

At larger campsites with extensive facilities, opt for upgraded accommodation like the Premium or Ultimate models.

The extra space and features can make all the difference when you’re traveling with kids. Also make sure you look at accommodation with air conditioning when your staying somewhere warm.

When we went to Camping Le Pommier in the Ardeche in 2023 it was over 40 degrees. Without air conditioning we really would have struggled.

2. Safari Tents: A Unique Outdoor Experience

Eurocamp Safari Tent

For those seeking a closer connection to nature, Eurocamp’s safari tents offer a more rustic yet stylish alternative to mobile homes. These pre-pitched tents come fully furnished and often include kitchenettes, beds, and even bathrooms in some models.

Key Features

  • Classic Safari Tents: Simple but cozy, these are perfect for budget-conscious campers.
  • Luxury Safari Tents: These come with more spacious layouts, better furnishings, and sometimes private bathrooms.

3. Other Options: Variety to Suit Every Traveller

Eurocamp Villa Lodge 3 Exterior

Some Eurocamp sites, like those in Italy or the Loire Valley, offer apartments or lodges for those seeking a more traditional holiday stay. These are ideal for couples or travellers who prefer fixed, hotel-like accommodations.

Compact and practical, bungalows and chalets are a great option for smaller groups or couples. They often feature simple interiors and are typically located in quieter areas of the campsite.

4. Tips for Choosing the Right Accommodation

Choosing the right accommodation will depend upon a number of things including how many people are going and your budget.

We’d always suggest you go as big as your budget will allow as there’s nothing worse than not having enough space.

Whether you’re looking for budget-friendly basics or luxurious comfort, there’s a perfect option waiting for you. Take the time to research the campsite’s layout and facilities to ensure your accommodation matches your dream holiday.

Activities On Site and Things to do Nearby

Eurocamp Activities and Experiences Kayaking on a Lake

One of the best aspects of Eurocamp holidays is the incredible variety of activities and things to do both on-site and nearby.

Whether you’re seeking thrills at a waterpark or quiet moments on a nature trail, Eurocamp offers something for everyone, regardless of age or interest.

On-Site Activities: Fun for Everyone

Camping le Pommier Waterslides in the Ardeche

Eurocamp campsites are thoughtfully designed to combine fun and relaxation. Whether you’re entertaining energetic kids or looking to unwind, the on-site amenities provide endless possibilities for enjoyment.

Most Eurocamp sites boast exceptional waterparks with slides, splash zones, and heated pools that delight visitors of all ages. This is one thing that we have always looked for when booking a holiday.

When our children were small we’d go for a campsite with a lovely swimming pool and splash zone. As they grew, the types of campsites we went for changed, moving onto those with larger pools and slides.

Take a look at this video on our sister website Gocampfrance. This is how much fun, you ones can have on a holiday when you pick the right pool!

Moving onto the larger pools, Camping Le Pommier in the Ardeche, has a sprawling waterpark which became our kids’ favourite hangout. The slides were fantastic and suited a variety of age groups and the pools offered a great place to relax and unwind.

There are plenty of ways to stay active, with a wide array of sports available, including mini-golf, tennis, zip-lining, and archery. Many campsites even offer free trial sessions for activities like archery or canoeing, so be sure to ask about them when you check in.

Show at La Rive in the Evening with Eurocamp

Evenings at Eurocamp come alive with family friendly shows, live music, and quiz nights. At St Avit Loisirs in Dordogne, the kids adored the mini-disco and play area, whilst we sat and had a glass of wine, watching them enjoying themselves.

The warm, community atmosphere made the evenings especially enjoyable. For popular performances or events, arriving early ensures you’ll get a good spot.

Nearby Attractions: Explore the Local Area

Chateau de Castelnaud in the Dordogne

While the campsites are filled with activities, nearby attractions often add a unique dimension to your holiday. Eurocamp locations are carefully selected to provide easy access to cultural, natural, and family-friendly sites.

Historic castles and towns offer the chance to step back in time and create magical experiences for the whole family such as the WW2 sites in Normandy or the chateau of the Loire or Dordogne.

Our trips to the Dordogne have led us, on several occasions, to visit Chateau de Castelnaud and canoe down the Dordogne River.

For sun-seekers, many Eurocamp locations are near beautiful beaches. At Le Clarys Plage in Vendée, we started each morning with a walk to the beach, where the kids built sandcastles while we relaxed with a book.

Whether you’re splashing at the pool, exploring a historic castle, or enjoying a quiet family meal under the stars, Eurocamp holidays are brimming with opportunities to create lifelong memories.

My 10 Expert Tips to Save Big on Eurocamp Holidays

My 10 Expert Tips to Save Big on Eurocamp Holidays

A Eurocamp holiday is already great value, but with a little planning and a few smart tricks, you can make it even more budget-friendly. Over the years, we’ve discovered ways to cut costs without missing out on the fun. Whether it’s booking at the right time, stacking discounts, or planning ahead for cheaper travel, here’s how you can save money on your next Eurocamp holiday.

Eurocamp

1. Travel in September for Lower Prices

One of the easiest ways to save money is by choosing the right time to go. If you can, avoid peak summer—prices drop significantly at the end of August and once schools go back in September.

Why The End of August and Beginning of September?

  • Campsites are quieter and up to 75% cheaper than in August.
  • The weather is still warm in most of Europe.
  • No long queues at pools and attractions.

When we stayed at Saint Avit Loisirs in the first week of September, we paid a third or the price for a Premier accommodation compared to August! If your schedule allows, check prices for late August and early September as shifting your dates by just a few days can make a big difference.

2. Be Flexible with Travel Days

Save money on eurocamp holidays by being flexible of travel days and save hundreds of pounds

Most people book Saturday to Saturday, but choosing midweek travel can save money on both Eurocamp stays and transport costs.

Eurocamp prices fluctuate on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and are often cheaper whilst ferries and Eurotunnel crossings cost less on weekdays than they do at weekend meaning you could save a few hundred pounds overall.

For example a Tuesday to Tuesday trip was £100 cheaper than a Saturday to Saturday. The same applies to ferry bookings with midweek crossings being significantly cheaper than Friday or weekend travel.

Since Eurocamp allows flexible arrival and departure dates, always compare different options before booking!

3. Book During Eurocamp Sales & Stack Discounts

The easiest way to save money on your Eurocamp holiday is by keeping an eye on Eurocamp offers and discounts. Booking at the right time can save you a lot with most discounts coming out in December and January time.

  • Early bird discounts – Available when next year’s dates are released (usually in autumn).

  • January & Easter Sales – Big discounts across multiple campsites.
  • Last-minute deals – Great for flexible travelers.

For extra discounts try and stack offers. With Eurocamp you can get additional loyalty discounts for each time you book, single parent discounts, long stay discounts and multi trip discounts.

Always check multiple discount sources before booking to maximize your savings!

4. Book Your Ferry or Eurotunnel Through Eurocamp

Booking your ferry or Eurotunnel crossing through Eurocamp can sometimes be cheaper however it is not always the case.

We done both ways as during off peak seasons we booked through eurocamp saving around £50 off the ferry, however during summer holidays we have saved more by booking direct with the ferry company.

Don’t forget to find out more about cheap ferry crossings with our articles Cheap Ferry to France: How to Find the Best Deals and What is the cheapest ferry crossing to France?.

Always compare the costs and consider booking your transport as part of your Eurocamp package for additional savings.

5. Choose Budget Accommodation

Eurocamp offers a range of accommodation types, and opting for a budget friendly option can save you a lot.

We always recommend going as big and as best as you can because we know how important a good sized, well equipped holiday home is when you have kids.

Saying that if you want or need to save money then one of the best ways to do that is to book a cheaper holiday home.

A week at Le Clarys Plage in the Vendee at starting on the 2nd August 2025 for a 3 bedroom holiday home varies quite a bit between models. As you can see in the table below the difference between the Classic and the Premium on the same date is a whopping £868 which is 70.25%!

Accommodation Type Price (£) Difference from Classic (£) Difference from Classic (%)
Eurocamp Classic 3 Bedroom £1236.95 £0.00 0%
Eurocamp Comfort 3 Bedroom £1544.69 £307.74 24.88%
Eurocamp Premium 3 Bedroom £2105.88 £868.93 70.25%

6. Bring Your Own Essentials

Campsites charge extra for linen, towels, and other necessities so bringing your own can reduce costs significantly.

You’ll also be charged an end of stay cleaning fee if you fail to clean your holiday home properly before you depart so ensure you take some basic cleaning products with you.

On site supermarkets are convenient which equates to a price. They can be 30-50% more expensive so taking your own essential, toiletries & detergents can help. Failing that take a trip to the local supermarket.

We have never paid for cleaning the holiday home at the end of the stay. We do a quick clean and tidy up which take us less than an hour before we leave and it has always been deemed sufficient by whichever company we have travelled with.

7. Plan Free & Discounted Activities

Some Eurocamp locations offer free or discounted activities, helping you save on entertainment costs.

Make sure that you follow these tips:

  • Book top campsites with free activities.
  • Choose campsite with good pools, lakes or close to the beach where you can enjoy free activities.

8. Check the ‘Special Offers’ Section

If you can’t find any site wide discounts on the Eurocamp website, then look on the Special Offers page on the Eurocamp website as you’ll always find some readily available deals.

Eurocamp Special Offers

They generally cover times of the year including Easter, May, June, July, August and September and when you click on each banner you’ll find a variety of campsites on offer at those times of the year.

9. Consider a Multi-Campsite Trip

This is something that we have done for years. Instead of staying in one place for two weeks, for years we have made the most of our holiday and crammed in two different campsites.

Generally we book a campsite a little further away for the first week and then somewhere on the way back to the ferry or Eurotunnel for week 2. Another great thing we did when the children were younger was to book one week at a campsite we had been before and the second at a brand new one. This way they had somewhere they knew and a brand new one each year.

We also did several years where we did a total of 10 nights splitting them 6 and 4. Instead of staying in one place, by splitting your holiday between two nearby Eurocamp sites you can sometime get some really great deals by filling up some of their unsellable short stays.

You save money as some campsites are cheaper on certain dates., you can also mix a premium site with a cheaper one which reduces the overall cost.

10. Look for Last-Minute Deals

Finally, if you’re flexible with dates, last-minute deals can offer huge savings, especially in off-peak months.

The best time to check of last minute deals are:

  • 2-6 weeks before departure.
  • Outside school holiday dates.

Keep an eye on the Eurocamp website prices can drop significantly just before travel!

With a little planning, there are loads of ways to make your Eurocamp holiday more affordable. Whether it’s booking at the right time, choosing off-peak travel days, stacking discounts, or planning ahead for cheaper activities, these tips can help you save hundreds without sacrificing fun.

Practical Advice: What to Pack and Prepare

What to pack for your eurocamp holiday

Packing for a Eurocamp holiday can be a pain especially if you forget something important which is why it’s important to plan carefully to ensure you have everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

With over 20 years of Eurocamp holidays under our belt, we’ve mastered the art of packing. Here’s some tips to help you prepare for your trip.

1. Packing Essentials for Eurocamp (Tailored to France)

Accommodation Essentials

  • Bedding and Towels: If you’re not hiring these from Eurocamp, pack bed linens, pillowcases, and towels for both the bathroom and the pool.
  • Kitchen Supplies : While Eurocamp kitchens are equipped with the basics, bring: Tea towels, Sponges and dishwashing liquid, Salt, pepper, and condiments and BBQ tools as the ones provided are quite poor.

Outdoor Essentials

  • Clothing: Pack for varied weather. Lightweight layers, waterproof jackets, and sturdy walking shoes are must-haves for outdoor adventures.
  • Swim Gear: Don’t forget swimsuits, swim caps (often required at French pools), and flip-flops for poolside areas. Don’t forget to checkout the swimming pool rules for men’s shorts.

Travel Essentials

  • Booking confirmation
  • Passports and any necessary travel documents
  • Travel insurance details
  • Driving documents and items needed for driving in France
  • First aid kit and medicine
  • Snacks and Drinks: Stock up on non-perishable items for the journey and campsite, such as biscuits, cereal, and pasta.
  • A reliable GPS or offline maps app.
  • Printed directions as a backup.

2. Advice for Traveling with Kids

Traveling with children can be a breeze if you’re well-prepared. Here are some tips to keep the little ones happy and entertained:

When traveling with kids, planning meals ahead can save time and reduce stress. Start by packing familiar favourites—snacks and ingredients for meals your kids already love.

This can help ease mealtime battles and ensure everyone is happy and well-fed. For simplicity, stock up on easy-to-prepare meals like pasta dishes, sandwiches, and one-pot recipes that can be made quickly in your Eurocamp accommodation.

Don’t forget to bring a few reusable containers; they’re perfect for packing snacks for day trips or storing leftovers for another meal.

Keeping kids entertained during long journeys can make travel much smoother. Pack car games and activities like “I Spy,” travel bingo, or printable activity sheets to keep little minds engaged.

For longer trips, portable electronics like tablets or DVD players preloaded with movies or games can be a lifesaver. Just remember to bring headphones and charging cables to avoid mid-journey meltdowns.

Lastly, plan for break stops at interesting locations or service areas with play facilities to give kids a chance to stretch their legs and burn off some energy before hitting the road again.

Key Takeaway

Packing for a Eurocamp holiday is all about preparation and comfort. By bringing essentials tailored to your trip, planning meals in advance, and preparing for long journeys with kids, you’ll set yourself up for a smooth and enjoyable holiday.

FAQs About Eurocamp Holidays

Planning a Eurocamp holiday comes with plenty of excitement, but it’s natural to have questions, especially if you’re booking for the first time. Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions to help you feel fully prepared for your trip.

Is Eurocamp worth the money?

Yes, Eurocamp is worth the money, we’ve stayed during May school holidays for under £300 before and for a family of 5 we think it’s well worth the money. We’ve also stayed during the school summer holiday and spent under £1200 in the past.

We’ve always found that Eurocamp offer well-equipped mobile homes, scenic campsites, and a variety of on-site amenities—including pools, entertainment, and kid-friendly activities—often at a lower cost than hotels.

For a family of 5 it would have cost us so much more. The price above doesn’t include the ferry but we’ve always managed to get a fairly inexpensive ferry and again it works out so much cheaper for us than flights.

What is the nearest Eurocamp to Calais?

The nearest Eurocamp to Calais is La Bien Assise which is just 15km away which takes less than 30 minutes by car.

Do you pay for activities at Eurocamp?

It depends on the campsite, but many activities at Eurocamp are free, including pools, playgrounds, and kids’ clubs. However, some sites charge for extras like bike hire, water sports, mini-golf, or high-adrenaline activities. Prices vary by location, so checking the specific campsite’s activity list in advance is recommended.

Can you pay Eurocamp in instalments?

Yes, Eurocamp allows you to pay in instalments. You can secure your booking with a low deposit and spread the remaining balance over several payments, as long as the full amount is paid by the final due date. This flexible payment option makes it easier to budget for your holiday.

Are Eurocamp Pools Heated?

Can I take my dog to Eurocamp?

Is Wi-Fi Reliable?

Wi-Fi is available at most Eurocamp campsites, but its reliability can vary depending on the location and time of year.

Is Parking Available?

Yes, most accommodations come with free on-site parking, typically next to or near your mobile home or tent.

Are Eurocamp Holidays All-Inclusive?

No, Eurocamp holidays are not all-inclusive. Eurocamp offer only self-catering accommodation, meaning you’ll need to arrange your own meals and drinks.

While many campsites have on-site restaurants, bars, and supermarkets, food and activities are generally paid for separately. This setup provides flexibility and can be a more budget-friendly option compared to traditional all-inclusive resorts.

Alternatives to Eurocamp and Why Eurocamp is Our Family Favourite

There are many alternatives to Eurocamp and we’ve been on holiday to France with many of them including Alfresco Holidays (Now part of Eurocamp), Canvas Holidays (also now part of Eurocamp), Yellow Village, Sandaya, Suncamp Holidays, Ciela Village and Brittany Ferries yet we have always come back to Eurocamp.

This is because of the ease of booking, good quality accommodation and customer service.

Over the years, we’ve also discovered countless incredible campsites, but one that holds a special place in our hearts is Domaine des Ormes (Brittany) .

Its blend of stunning scenery, exciting activities, and proximity to iconic landmarks like Mont Saint-Michel makes it an unbeatable choice. Not to mention the fact it’s a short distance from Saint Malo which makes it extremely easy for travelling.

Whether zip-lining through the trees, enjoying a fun afternoon in the pool, or unwinding under the stars, Domaine des Ormes has provided our family with some of our most cherished holiday memories.
